Love at first sight

“Who ever loved that loved not at first sight”
-Shakespeare

When I saw you the first time, no not your photographs, but in person, time stood still.

Time stood still, not for the rest of the world, for it still continued, and people moved in the background, blurred, out of focus.

Time stood still for only both of us, just for a second, or may be eternity, so that I could capture and comprehend the gravity of my plight, of my uncertainty, of my fate, of my future and destiny.

I was overcome by a crude and powerful desire to possess, to make you mine, and only mine and destroy anything or anyone who would come in my way.

Time moved again when you looked up, away from your thoughts, and met my gaze, and stared into my naked soul, and I jerked back into reality, unsure of what to do, to make you mine.

I fumbled, I mumbled, did you notice, do you remember?

That was when I realised what love at first sight was.
