General disclaimer: Smoking is bad for you. Nicotine is also bad for you.
Too much water can also kill you.
Ditto with too much pure oxygen.
It’s all about the dosage.
Experimentation is fine, but don’t be a dumbass and kill yourself.
End of disclaimer.
Nicotine, according to some scientists is the one true chemical that makes you smarter.
But the stigma attached to it makes it a taboo to conduct further research on, and hence getting funded for such research almost impossible.
What I found through nicotine gum was that nicotine increases focus dramatically, giving a hyperfocused state of mind.
But there are immediate and unpleasant side effects.
It causes vasoconstriction. As a result, there is lesser blood flow to your extremities, and consequently causes cold hands and feet.(and also increases the effort your heart has to put to pump out blood.)
Another side effect is that it loosens the bowels.
So, if you haven’t shit in a while, get ready to run to the toilet.
I find the side effects too irritating to continue any more usage of nicotine gum.
I’d rather have my usual coffee-tea combo which takes you more gently to a hyperfocused state of mind, and let’s you stay in that state for longer.
Nicotine state of mind is brief and fleeting.
So what I did was to record the state of mind and anchor that feeling to physical cue, using principles of NLP, so that I can simulate entering into that state anytime I require (minus the nasty side effects)
Only time will tell how long the anchor will be effective.
But until then I’ll always have my coffee-tea combo.
