This is my obligatory birthday post, sort of a tradition that I carry.
Every year, I take stock of things and draw conclusions on the year gone by and make wild speculations on what lies ahead.
It was business as usual at my workplace. A few annual inspections were just the cherry on top. We were busy, as usual, work moving at the frenetic pace we are so accustomed to, that anything slower would be boring.
Last year, my obligatory birthday post was in form of a fictional character who wishes for enlightenment and gets exactly what he needs.
This year I talk about how I let my wife guilt trip over forgetting my birthday.
Well maybe not.
I suppose it would suffice to say that by making her feel guilty, I got an opportunity to act magnanimous and say that I really didn’t feel bad that she forgot my birthday.
Hey, wait a minute…
Now I realise that maybe that was her gift to me.
